5 Double Down's in ONE Sitting
I stumbled across this on KFC Canada's Facebook page. I thought eating one was pretty bad ass. To celebrate the Canadian release of the Double Down, this guy (who's name is also Ben) ate five of these greasy heartstoppers in seven minutes. That's TEN fried chicken breasts!!
WARNING: May promote uncontrollable vomitting.

My Double Down Experience
Today is the day of the Canadian Double Down release. Suprisingly, I couldn't find one friend to join me for lunch today, so I had to go it alone and take down the ground-breaking sammy on my own.
The first thing I noticed about what I would like to call "The Double Down Experience" was the feeling I had before ordering it. Even on my walk to KFC, I had this ominous feeling in my soul that I couldn't shake. Like a boy with a potato cannon aimed at a hornets nest, I knew that the outcome of this event was not likely to be a good one - hell it might even hurt - but the excitement of the unknown was too much to bare and I had to follow through with my plan.

Poutini's
So i was in Toronto this past weekend and on my first night out this is where I ended up @ 3am with Scabes and Ben. Ran into J-Bone and Kale which was pretty funny considering they flew home for the weekend and ended up in the same spot. If you are in toronto and looking for a dirty poutine hit up Poutinis on queen st West. only complaint is they dont use enough gravy or curds. the top layer is pretty heavy but once thats gone its more less just a bucket of fries..

3.5 / 5 dirty forks
Here are two other pics from the trip -
1. the double down is here and its dirty. apparently the sodium level in one sandwich contains 300 more milligrams than the recommended daily intake. thats one salty sandy.

2. this is after I broke my belt by sitting down on the ground for a breather. this was another realization i should lay off the snacks and start exercising. In my hand is a bag of homemade bits n bites that my friend Lindsay made me for the flight home. I ate them all in the taxi home.... oops.

Finally....
KFC Double Down: Will you try it?

KFC is bringing its famous Double Down sandwich, which features fried chicken breasts instead of buns, to Canada starting Oct. 18 for a limited time.
The bunless bacon-and-cheese laden sandwich was launched in select U.S. markets last year before being made available nationwide in April. It's become the company's most successful sandwich in history, a news release said Thursday.
According to Dan Howe, chief marketing officer for Yum! Restaurants Canada, the corporation that operates and licenses KFC restaurants, 64 per cent of Canadians wanted the fast-food giant to bring the 540-calorie menu item north of the border, although "only about 45 per cent report they have what it takes to take down the Double Down."
The sandwich will be available at each of the company's 729 restaurants in Canada until Nov. 14.
Recently, several U.S.-based fast-food chain restaurants have been trying to outdo each other with belt-busting sandwiches.
In June, Friendly's introduced the 1,500-calorie Grilled Cheese Burger Melt, which replaces traditional hamburger buns with two grilled-cheese sandwiches.
One month later, Carl's Jr. and Hardee's began selling foot-long cheeseburgers in test markets.
Countdown is on DOC !!

KFC Ass-vertising
KFC Ass-vertising On College Girls To Promote Double Down

Because the KFC Double Down sandwich—two pieces of bacon, melted Monterey Jack and Pepper Jack cheese, and the Colonel's sauce nestled between two chicken fillets instead of bread slices—didn't get much media attention when it debuted in April, the company is resorting to grassroots marketing. On your ass. If you are a female college undergraduate, you are eligible to receive $500 from KFC in exchange for wearing KFC Double Down branded sweat pants around campus. You'll also need to turn over your dignity (if you've still got any). But hey, that's all part of growing up!
KFC has already introduced the promotion on a campus in Louisville, its corporate headquarters. Brand ambassadors sporting the "one-of-a-kind" Double Down logo on the rear "attracted fellow students across campus with KFC gift certificates." (Because college dudes just can't resist a hot gift certificate.) In a press release, KFC announced it will select students at three additional campuses and outfit them with the customized sweat pants, which subconsciously show exactly where all the Double Down's 32 grams of fat calories are going. Check out KFC's Facebook page for your chance to be a corporate tool in sweats!
fuck ya. This is what I call grassroots marketing at its finest. I am dyin to try this fucking sandwich so bad. Who wants to make a run across the border for a quick double down and maybe a stop @ jack in the box ??
